Build an app in an evening. Come along to Old Broadcasting House on Tuesday 22nd  February for an introduction to iOS development for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.  Much more fun than Eastenders!

We’ll start off the evening with an overview of the hardware and software capabilities of the iOS devices, followed by a run down of the kind of things that are possible through the iOS SDK* as well as a tour around the development tools that developers use every day to create the apps you know and love.

Your presenter for the evening is Dave Verwer, of Shiny Development, an experienced app developer and trainer, and all-round great guy.  Dave  delivers the four day iOS Developer Training course here at nti Leeds.

We’re really pleased that our new iPhone Apps developer course is running, starting on 20th July. There’s such a growing interest in mobile apps, and the associated business opportunities, that this seemed a logical development for us to complement our Apple Authorised Curriculum portfolio, and our Open Source for Business Android developer course. Apple don’t currently offer authorised developer curriculum, so we are using materials from About Objects, who have been running their courses in the States for a while now. The course will be delivered by Dave Verwer from Shiny Developments. Dave has developed a number of Apps so is well placed to deliver the course. That’s something that we believe really makes a difference.

The three day course is aimed at people with some programming experience and is priced at £995. The actual language you may have used before is not important. We’ll be using iPod Touches on the course; each delegate will be supplied with one to use during the course.

Its amazing how mobile apps are taking off - the opportunities for business, marketing and personal use are endless, as Apple recently demonstrated by announcing the billionth download from the Apps store. We aim to provide our clients with opportunities to take advantage of these developments by bringing new courses such as this to our centre in Leeds.

You’ll gain a  comprehensive grounding in iOS development techniques and concepts, and learn how to use the major tools and APIs in the iPhone SDK, and how they fit together.

Its a practical course so you’ll learn hands-on from your trainer, who’s an iPhone Apps developer with experience in all aspects of designing, developing, shipping and marketing successful iOS apps, and who is also great at passing that knowledge on to you.

The course runs with a maximum of eight delegates, so you’ll get your own questions answered, whilst training alongside fellow developers  -  an ideal way to maximise what you’ll get from these four days
