Our nti Works scheme is in the Yorkshire Post
The nti Works scheme has been praised by the Yorkshire Post as it featured last week on Thursday 25th March, as an article in the jobs section of the newspaper. If you missed it, keep reading below:
Graduates at Leeds Metropolitan University and its Northern Technology Institute (NTI) are receiving a helping hand as a scheme designed to help them into work has received extra funding.
Regional Development Agency Yorkshire Forward has backed the scheme that helps digital and creative graduates access training and gain business skills needed to set up their own businesses. By the time the project finished in June, the number of Yorkshire and Humber graduates involved in the training will have reached 60. The NTI Works programme, which provides advice, training, guidance and mentoring to recent graduates, has proved popular since its launch in 2009.
Linda Broughton, Head of the Northern Technology Institute, said “Being part of the co-working community here at Old Broadcasting House offers a unique opportunity for the graduates to learn from other s who have been through the same experience.”

Crossover Business Labs
Forward thinking innovative events and seminars are being developed across the region. Through the partners and resources of the NorthernNet innovation and collaboration programme, a calendar is being put together to communicate free and additionally funded events for the creative and digital sectors.
The events will connect the North West, Yorkshire and the North East, giving a detailed picture of who is doing what, where and how. Industry specialists will deliver their insight into what the industry can expect for the future. (more…)

The placement period can vary from a few days to over a year and forms parts of the student’s academic qualification.
A student can add value to professional skills and a different perspective that address your business’ needs. This can involve the completion of a project you may have not previously had the time or resource to undertake.

Enterprise Europe Yorkshire
Enterprise Europe Yorkshire will be investigating further the innovation capabilities of business over the next coming months. As a result there are five FREE events scheduled for Leeds at the Round Foundry Media Centre and the Novotel Hotel. Each one will ask the following questions:

Crossover Labs - Introduction to Cross-Platform Innovation
On Monday 21st September, The Round Foundry Media Centre, Foundry Street, Leeds and The Electric Works, Sheffield Digital Campus, Sheffield, will see Crossover Labs look into new ways to manage and support innovation that will commercially drive ideas generation into your business. Previous lab participants Diarmid Scrimshaw (Warp Films, Sheffield) and David Eccles, (Numiko, Leeds), will introduce the Crossover Labs concept and talk about how it impacted their business. Quadrangle highlights new angles for business
On Wednesday 29 April, over 60 people from a variety of businesses across the north visited nti Leeds to find out about new and exciting ways to develop their products and their business.
Quadrangle brought together the 4 West Yorkshire Universities, 4iP, the Technology Strategy Board (TSB), Business Link and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) to provide businesses with key information about current funding and partnership opportunities in the region. (more…)
