Yorkshire Venturefest 2009 was a day of activity for startups, wannabe entrepreneurs and more estabished businesses , investors and advisers.  The Innovation Showcase 50 exhibtion  hosted the most hotly tipped startups in the region, whilst the Unversity Showcase area brought together the startups from students and new graduates from our region’s universities. Web and graphic design agency, Creode, one of our Innovation Showcase members, have been named as the winner of the University of Leeds‘ annual business plan competition. James Hannaford (22) and Luke Harrison (21) founded Creode, which provides the full gamut of branding, design and web services, following graduation in the summer of 2008. The company already has some high profile clients in its portfolio, which includes children’s TV channel CBeebies, the University of East London and our own nti Leeds website! (more…)
