Our coworking space here at Old Broadcasting House is a great place for startups and freelancers to do business.  Our community of members includes developers, designers, and creatives who value the fantastic location, prestigious business address, the collaborative open space and the cool technology.  We aim to offer a low risk space which lets you focus on developing your potential, your ideas, and your business.

The open space is organised into  ‘Pods’, equipped witha Mac Pro computer, and an Apple 30″ studio display, WIFI and broadband connectivity. Members also have access to meeting rooms, and a coffee area that is great for meeting clients.  Membership costs  £90 + VAT per month.

The coworking space  is a great alternative to working from home. You work for yourself because you value your independence and want to develop your ideas. As a member here you have all of these advantages plus you’re a part of a team, a community, which means you also get  feedback on your ideas, collaboration opportunities, referrals and introductions.

nti Works is a programme run by nti Leeds lasting approximately three months, designed to help new graduates get started as freelancers in the digital sector. The programme consists of some core training that has been specially designed to help you get started, as well as providing a virtual training account which enables enrollment on to courses from the nti schedule - see www.ntileeds.co.uk/training.

nti is pleased to announce the launch of the January Programme 2010! If successful in applying, you will be assigned a mentor to help you plan your professional development and you will also become a sponsored member of our pioneering coworking space at Old Broadcasting House, which will enable you to work alongside current members. During the time you are here you will be encouraged to get involved in the Leeds grass roots community, attending meetups, coffee events and evening presentations depending on your particular area of specialism (for example Open Coffee Leeds, Creative Networks, GeekUp Leeds, Barcamps, Hackspace etc) to start building your network of contacts which will be crucial to getting started. nti is pleased to welcome it™s latest new coworking members as part of the nti Works graduate scheme.  Thanks to funding from the Economic Challenge Investment Fund (ECIF), 15 Leeds Metropolitan University graduates are taking advantage of 3 months sponsored membership of our coworking space, the Innovation Showcase at Old Broadcasting House, and a whole range of training and business support services to help them get started in the world of creative and digital business.  We are currently recruiting the second group of graduates to start in September - please see this link for details of how to apply. Geoff Gifford and I attended the Innovator ‘09 awards at Leeds Town Hall on Thursday 5th March 2009. We were pretty excited/nervous/pleased to be shortlisted in the Innovation Catalyst award for our coworking space here at Old Broadcasting House. Surprisingly the digital sector wasn’t well represented as from what we can gather it was just NTI Leeds that made the shortlist in any of the categories. This doesn’t represent the true picture of what’s happening in our region in the digital area. Maybe people are not applying as they are just too busy innovating and working on getting business to fill out the application. (more…)
