Apple is seeking to find creative students to showcase their skills in the Creative Contest 2010. The best 15 entries will be shortlisted by Apple staff from each category, and then go on to a panel of industry professionals who will choose the top three.

The three winners in each category will receive fantastic prizes, a free Apple Certified Pro Certification Exam, feature in the iTunes Store Podcast directory and a trip to the awards ceremony in London. Flights and accommodation will be covered by Apple. (more…)

Welcome to nti Leeds, we’re the Apple Authorised Training Centre for the Yorkshire, Humber and North East region and we’re also authorised training partners for Adobe, Zend, and  PRINCE2® .  We run regular Final Cut, Logic, Motion and Snow courses here at our specialist location. We also run mobile apps training courses  - iPad and iPhone apps development and Google Android Apps and we were one of the first training centres in Europe to offer a these.

We’re part of Leeds Metropolitan University, based at Old Broadcasting House in Leeds.

November has been a busy month for us moving over to the new Apple courses. The Snow 101 Support Essentials has become our current best seller, with November’s course full well in advance. If you haven’t already booked, we’ve got availibility in 2010. The first delivery of Snow 201 Server Essentials is happening on 30th November. We’ve also run the first couple of deliveries of the new Final Cut Pro 101 v7 course, welcoming back Chris Roberts to Old Broadcasting House. (more…)

As part of Leeds Digital Week 2009, nti Leeds will be hosting an evening workshop on the 10th November 2009 from 6pm till 9pm. The aim is to give you an insight into the new features that Apple have delivered in Logic 9 and Logic Express 9. This workshop will demonstrate the functionality by using hands-on exercises to help you make music with Logic.

The workshop will be delivered by our Apple Authorised Logic Pro Trainer Tom Bowers, and run in the training suite. There are only 12 places available so please book early to secure your place.

The wait is over. The new Snow Leopard operating system and Final Cut and Logic Studios from Apple are here. With dozens of improvements and features, these new versions are a must-have for any serious professional Mac user. All nti Leeds Macs are now currently going through an uprgading process, which will benefit not only course delegates, but those using our coworking space too.  We’re also making sure all nti Leeds’ Apple courses have been updated to reflect the changes, so we can make sure you have the most up to date skills possible. Students from Yorkshire will be some of the first to submit their work for the Euro Creator Award 2009 as part of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation.

On 5^th & 6^th February students from all over Yorkshire, including those studying the new 14-19 Creative and Media Diploma, attended the first Apple Euro Creator workshops at nti Leeds. Lead by Apple Distinguished Educators, the event enabled students to gain hands-on practical knowledge of Apple software, and just some of the possibilities for its use. (more…)

Just got back from two days at the Apple hosted conference for their Authorised Training Centre partners in Barcelona. This was my first time at this annual event, and as you can probably imagine it was fantastic. It was great to see John Moores, our Logic trainer, pick up his guitar with the rest of the Apple band at Thursday’s gala dinner.  Maybe we should  get him to bring his guitar with him to Old Broadcasting House when he comes back in December? Over 200 delegates attended from training centres across Europe. There was some news about new products. Max OSX 10.6 or Snow Leopard will be out next year and the good news is that there will be an upgrade exam so we will still be able to offer 10.5 courses knowing that clients can easily upgrade their certification.  Certifications are now available in iLife and iWork, I guess we need to consider whether these will be popular - any thoughts?
