Placements
Recruiting a placement student is a way for potential employers to gain access to talented students at Leeds Metropolitan University’s Innovation North - Faculty of Information & Technology. A cost-effective way to for you to bring new skills and knowledge into your organisation.
As part of Innovation North – Faculty of Information & Technology, nti Leeds is supporting the valuable work experience that gives students an insight into their chosen industry and a competitive edge in the job market. The placement period can vary from a few days to over a year and forms parts of the student’s academic qualification.
A student can add value to professional skills and a different perspective that address your business’ needs. This can involve the completion of a project you may have not previously had the time or resource to undertake.
High on the list of this year’s priorities, was the re-vamp of the Innovation North Placement Website. Using funding secured by TQEF and The Enterprise Institute, these two objectives were taken on by 3 second year students - Jono Davies, Liam Stephenson and Ben Lucas.
“I think they have done a fantastic job, they had a lot to do - including learning Drupal. We wanted to put the website in place for this year’s students so the deadline was quite aggressive. I’m pleased we have made it and it’s all thanks to their hard work and effective team work.” Jackie Campbell, Placement co-ordinator for IT and Computing Placements.
nti Leeds will be working alongside the placement team to expand the opportunities that are offered to students. Find out more, login as ‘innplace’ and password ‘innjobs’ at the website here.
