nti Works - Graduate Programme Autumn 2009
What is nti works?
nti works is designed to help recent graduates gain specialist skills and training in order to find employment, or get started as freelancers in the digital sector.
The nti Works programme consists
a) core training - induction, project management, digital coaching - what’s your starting point, begin to plan where you’re going
b) a virtual account available to spend on nti scheduled training - get specialist skills and accreditation
c) three months membership of our coworking space, based here at Old Broadcasting House - meet current members, learn from their success, discover new opportunities
d) a mentor who can act as a sounding board for your planned professional development
While you are on this programme, which lasts around three months, you will get involved in the Leeds grass roots community, attending meetups, and evening presentations, depending on your particular area of specialism (for example Creative Networks, GeekUp Leeds, Barcamps, Hackspace, Screen Yorkshire events etc) to start building your network of contacts.
Who is this programme aimed at?
nti works is for recent graduates whose degree subject covers the digital sector (eg Computing, New Media, Media Technology). You may have already delivered external client work You will be considering employment, freelancing or starting a business as your next route.
We aim to offer the places to those who will benefit most from this opportunity. That means being prepared to be an active participant.
What does it cost?
There is no charge for this programme. However we reserve the right to charge you if you take a place and do not attend agreed training. The value of the nti works package is in the region of £1500 per person.
What happens at the end of the programme?
You can join our coworking community at a reduced rate.
We’re currently taking applications for those who are graduating Summer 2010.

1. Apply for the programme on the Leeds Met Economic Challenge Investment Fund web site

You should also email an up-to-date copy of your CV to info@ntileeds.co.uk Only applications for which we have a registration and CV will be considered.
2. A limited number of places are available and it is likely that this offer will be over subscribed. Applying does not guarantee you a place.
3. Successful applicants will be asked to reply to accept their place.
4. You will be invited to an initial meeting to discuss your training requirements and start to plan the outcomes for your three month programme.
5. After the initial meeting you will also have a training plan of nti courses that you will be attending and other actions as agreed. Check the courses available on www.ntileeds.co.uk If there is an exam make sure you do it to get the certification for your CV
6. Throughout the three months you need to make sure you are contactable - e.g. by mobile and email, and actively taking part in on line forums and discussions as well as making the most of the opportunities that come your way.
