We're pleased to welcome Leeds-based Lorna "lornajane" Mitchell to the team. Lorna is a PHP consultant developer and a familiar face at the geek events in the city and surrounding area.  She's a regular visitor to NTI Leeds and it's great that she's now joined our team of trainers.  Lorna is well-known in the PHP community, not just locally but also nationally and internationally, speaking at many of the events in Europe and beyond.  Lorna will bring her technical expertise as a developer to the role of PHP trainer, and our clients tell us that it's that combination of professional practice, and training ability that makes our  trainers, and as a result, our training, really special. Here's what Lorna has to say on working with us :

"I really enjoy teaching the courses here.  It's a great place for learning and with the coworkers upstairs, and technical events on in the evening,  NTI is right at the centre of technology and open source in Leeds". We asked Lorna to tell us a bit more about Zend Certification, from her position as a developer. "I'm proud to say that I'm a Zend Certified Engineer.  I often get asked why I wanted to get certified in the first place.  My answer is that I like to learn!  Being certified meant I had to study on some areas of theory that I was using regularly, as well as getting to grips with some aspects of PHP that I had not come into contact with very many times before. Working towards being certified meant I learned  some new things about PHP that I can now apply to my development work, rather than just sticking with things I already know.
