New updates for Apple Courses

The wait is over. The new Snow Leopard operating system and Final Cut and Logic Studios from Apple are here. With dozens of improvements and features, these new versions are a must-have for any serious professional Mac user. All nti Leeds Macs are now currently going through an uprgading process, which will benefit not only course delegates, but those using our coworking space too.  We’re also making sure all nti Leeds’ Apple courses have been updated to reflect the changes, so we can make sure you have the most up to date skills possible.

As a taster of the new developments, nti Leeds’ trainer Chris Roberts gives you the highlights of the main changes to the Final Cut Studio and what these improvements and features will mean to your everyday workflow:

The main differences between FCP 6 and FCP 7 are what Apple has added in terms of functionality.  Here’s a brief summary:

- Improved Markers: learn how the new timeline markers can help your editing workflow

- New Speed Tool: learn how to create complex speed effects and time remapping easily using the new Speed Tool

- Global Transitions: apply audio and video transitions to multiple edit points with one click

- iChat Theater Preview: learn how to collaborate quickly and easily, no matter where you are int he world

- New Share Window: learn how to quickly output and format your HD content for the web, your favourite Apple devices (iPhone, iPod, Apple TV), DVD or Blu-ray discs

Other features not directly covered in the FCP 101 training course include:

- Expanded ProRes Family: three new additions to the Apple ProRes family of codecs to help improve your production workflow

- Alpha Transitions: use this new feature to create eye-catching, customisable transitions
