InDesign Tips
If you've attended our Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign courses, you'll know that Gary loves to pass on his expert knowledge of the Creative Suite in the lab. He also likes to share tips through these posts. Here's the latest for you - this time the subject is InDesign.
Gary:
Folder 0 - Anyone who uses the Links panel in InDesign will know how tedious it can be scrolling down to the bottom of the panel to view the location of your project assets. There are two other methods you can use to avoid this.
The firs tone is to hover your cursor over the listed item in the links panel for 1 second, the file location is then displayed in a tool tip.
The second method is to navigate to the Links panel fly-out menu (located to the top right of the panel), and choose Panel Options. The Panel Options dialogue box will then open. Next click on the show column check box for the Folder 0 feature in the list. Finally click OK. Now you will have a column that displays the folder origin for your linked files in the links panel.
Page Colour - I receive numerous enquiries from delegates concerning the default page colour, and how to change it. The answer is simpler than you might think. Open the Swatches panel (Window> Color> Swatches) and you will notice that amongst the 10 default swatches there is one entitled "Paper", coloured white. Double click the swatch to edit the colour values, and click OK when done. You should see that with a document open the page colour has changed accordingly.
Thanks Gary.
