Leeds Business Week

This year Business Link Yorkshire will host two events during Leeds Business Week. They are both designed to encourage businesses to become more competitive through best practice and through innovation.

On Monday 1st June from 9.30am to 1pm, Business Link Yorkshire and Leeds-based Resolve Gets Results LLP are co-hosting a seminar entitled ˜Improving your business in tough times™, which forms the opening session of Leeds Business Week.

Four experienced business leaders from Resolve will offer practical and encouraging advice on how businesses can cope with adversity and improve results. They have a wealth of knowledge about do™s and don™ts, how to survive and continue moving forward, how to get the best out of people in difficult situations, and how to prepare your business to spot opportunities in spite of the generally poor economic climate.

On Tuesday 2nd June from 9:30 to 1:00, Business Link and the University of Leeds are co-hosting ˜Preparing your business for a brighter future™, which shows how businesses can become more competitive through innovation. G4S will show how simple design changes solved a problem with their cash boxes and Betty™s & Taylor™s will talk about product development to meet changing consumer tastes. Kilo 75 will demonstrate how web innovation opened up new markets for a traditional retailer and Mechan Design will demonstrate how a new identity enabled a client to expand into new markets. UKTI will present a case showing a client™s path to export markets. Finally, Business Link and The University of Leeds will be able to advise businesses about the process and the support available to help.

There will be plenty of opportunity for questioning, discussion and networking at both events, including a buffet lunch once the formalities are over.
