Green Computing Mini Conference - 18/01/2010


What does “Green” really mean? Why be Green? How to be Green? On Monday 18th January from 10am to 4pm, these three main issues will be addressed at the Green Computing ‘Mini-Conference’ that will be held at Old Broadcasting House.

Among the speakers will be Innovation North academic, Professor Colin Pattinson. Colin was instrumental in setting up Leeds Metropolitan University’s Innovation North faculty MSc Green Computing award, the first of its kind in the country. The award enables students to investigate green ICT technologies, assess the environmental impact of ICT and look at how companies can streamline their systems, increase sustainability and save energy costs.

The Green IT mini-conference, will be hosted by nti Leeds and Digital 20/20 and feature a range of speakers from academia and industry. Speakers will include the University of Leeds, the University of Lincoln, Digital 20/20, Very PC, Learning Light, Scientia Group, JISC and Leeds Met.
