Geekup Leeds
On Wednesday 18th November from 6pm, Geekup Leeds will be gathering web designers, web developers, and other tech-minded people, to share their knowledge and network amongst the web and technology industries finest.
This month’s guest speakers will include Garrett Coakley from Oxford’s Torchbox, who will be talking about “How To Herd Cats - tips for running a successful online community”. Ian Bowden, Art Director at Rockstar Leeds, will also be joining the evening to talk about living and working in the games industry.
Garrett has over a decade of experience in developing websites. Past clients range from national high street retailers and financial institutions, to international charities and NGOs. His specialism includes Drupal development and community building.
Ian has been developing games with Rockstar Leeds since 1997 and joined the Rockstar family in 2004. The studio was responsible for internationally chart-topping titles Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories, and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Rockstar Games has teamed up with super-producer Timbaland to present Beaterator, coming soon for the PSP system.
