In this course, you will use Adobe Dreamweaver and PHP to create and administer dynamic database-driven sites

The two-day Adobe Dreamweaver Advanced  course teaches attendees the skills they need to make their sites more interactive with forms, behaviors and multimedia. In addition, attendees learn how to use templates, library items, and automation to eliminate redundant coding and work and to accelerate the pace of web site development. Finally, attendees learn how to make their sites accessible.

Recommended for:


Anyone who wants to further develop their Dreamweaver skills to be able to create and manage dynamic database driven sites that contain more advanced concepts including CSS, libraries and templates. Completion of the Adobe Dreamweaver Introduction course or equivalent experience is required.



You will learn how to:


Install and maintain both the web and database servers

Setup SQL and connections to a database

Learn how to make your site more interactive using forms and behaviors

Master how to reuse page layouts and page sections using templates and library items

2 Getting Setup Defining a site, New CSS Template designs, Adding content to a site and Adding style with CSS
3 Site Navigation Understanding site navigation, Linking to files internal and external to your site, Adding email links and Linking from images
4 Designing page layout Understanding page layout and Structuring a page ready for CSS layout
5 SPRY AJAX Components AJAX defined, Introduction to SPRY widgets, SPRY Effects and Practical examples using SPRY widgets
6 Administering Websites Testing your site with the new CS3 Testing feature and Connecting to a remote site
Day 2
Lesson Description
1 Dreamweaver CS3 setup and server installation Web and Database Server installation and maintenance, SQL and data manipulation and Dreamweaver setup for dynamic website development
2 Establishing Database Connectivity Connect to a Server Using PHP, Identify the Components of a Database-Driven Site and Creating a Connection to a Database
3 Creating Interactive Page Elements Create Master and Detail Pages, Create Search and Results Pages and Use Dynamic Form Elements
4 Administering Database Records Manipulating Recordsets and Create, Read, Update, and Delete Records
5 Creating a User Authentication System Create a User Registration Form and Secure Web Pages
6 Administering Websites Connecting to a remote site and Transferring files to Servers

All server programs and utilities are installed by the participants at the start of the course.  The course is delivered through a series of trainer led concepts with practical demonstration followed by hands on practical sessions by the clients.
