What do students get out of your training courses at Nti?
My approach to training is very hands on, and I try to keep it as engaging and enjoyable as possible. I hope that the result is time well spent, and that what you learn can be implemented immediately into your day to day work.
Best thing about your job?
I like seeing the moment when someone grasps something that I have been explaining to them - that moment of clarity when it all fits into place, you can see it on people’s faces. That’s a nice feeling.
What do you do outside work?
I love to travel and experience new things. The last couple of places I have been Buenos Aires and Tokyo which were great places to visit. I also love sport and keeping fit - kickboxing, swimming, running, any sport I’ll have a go at..
Any near-death experiences to report?
When I was quad biking in New Zealand with a friend: He was in front of me and we were travelling at speed with a big drop into a ravine on our right-hand side. It was a dry day and his wheels were making dust which made it hard for me to see. There was a big left-hand turn that I didn’t see until the last second and I remember skidding the bike around the corner and thinking my time was up.
Party icebreaker: Ask me about…
My favourite bands. I love music and used to play in a band. I still play guitar to help me relax after a hard day’s training!
